Our Mission Statement
"Youth empowering youth through hands-on volunteer efforts to make a change in their community.”
About Us
Youth Opportunity to Unite (Y.O.U.) was founded in January of 2009 by The Volunteer Center, a program of the Round Rock Area Serving Center, inspired by the realization that many local youth were interested in making a difference in the Williamson County community, but were unfamiliar with the variety of volunteer opportunities that are available through local non-profits. Our Y.O.U. Council, an executive board comprised of youth volunteers, comes together as a team and helps coordinate volunteer activities to get local youth involved in the community. We are proud to have this dedicated group of young people and five adult mentors that help assist them with project coordination.
Each month our volunteer projects focus on a different area of interest in the community. It is our objective to educate our youth volunteers about the wide range of concerns and issues that face Williamson County. We do this by partnering with a variety of non-profits in the community. Our volunteers learn how these non-profits support the community and provide opportunities for individuals of all ages to give back and help others.
3 Easy Ways to Get Involved
Youth:
•Sign-up to volunteer for one of our projects
•Get your school, club, church youth group or scout group involved in one of our volunteer projects
•Serve on the Y.O.U. Council
Adults:
•Sponsor a Y.O.U. volunteer event
•Serve as a mentor
•Encourage a youth group to get involved
